How to Change Your Email Address

This article explains how to change the email address associated with your Credentium account.


Overview

You can change your email address through the profile settings. For security purposes, email changes require verification of the new email address.


Before You Begin

Please note:

  • You will need access to both your current email and the new email address
  • After changing your email, you will be logged out and must sign in again with the new email
  • Your credentials and data remain unchanged


How to Change Your Email


Step 1: Access Email Change

  1. Go to Edit profile from the menu
  2. Find the Email field
  3. Click the Change button

A dialog will open with the title: Change Email


Step 2: Enter New Email

The dialog displays your Current Email and provides a field for your new email.

  1. Enter your new email address in the New Email field
  2. Click Send Code to receive a verification code

You will see a confirmation: "Verification code sent"

Possible errors:

  • "New email is the same as your current email" - Enter a different email address
  • "This email address is already in use" - The email is registered to another account


Step 3: Verify Your Email

The dialog title changes to: Verify Email

You will see the message: "We sent a verification code to [your new email]. Enter the code below to confirm your new email."

  1. Check your new email inbox for the verification code
  2. Enter the 6-digit code in the Verification Code field
  3. Click Verify to confirm

Additional options:

  • Click Resend Code if you didn't receive the code (confirmation: "Verification code resent")
  • Click Back to return to the previous step
  • Click Cancel to abort the process

Possible errors:

  • "Invalid verification code" - Enter the correct code
  • "Verification code has expired. Please request a new one." - Click Resend Code
  • "Maximum attempts exceeded. Please request a new code." - Click Resend Code


Step 4: Complete the Change

After successful verification, the dialog title shows: Email Changed

You will see the message: "Your email has been successfully changed to [new email]. Please log in again with your new email."

Click Log Out to be signed out.


After Email Change

After your email is changed:

  1. You will be logged out automatically
  2. Sign in again using your new email address
  3. Your password remains the same


Troubleshooting

I didn't receive the verification code

  1. Check your spam or junk folder
  2. Wait a few minutes and check again
  3. Click Resend Code to request a new code
  4. Verify you entered the correct email address

The verification code expired

Verification codes expire after a few minutes. Click Resend Code to receive a new code.

I can't access my current email

You need access to your current account to change your email. If you cannot access your account, contact Credentium Support.

I entered the wrong new email

If you haven't completed verification, click Back or Cancel and start again with the correct email.

If you completed the change with the wrong email, you will need to sign in with that email and change it again, or contact support if you cannot access it.


Frequently Asked Questions


Will my credentials be affected?

No, your credentials remain in your wallet after changing your email.


Do I need to update my email with issuers?

Issuers send credentials to the email they have on file. If you expect new credentials, inform the issuer of your new email address.


Can I change back to my old email?

Yes, you can change your email again using the same process, provided the old email is not registered to another account.
