Credential Actions
Viewing Credential Details
Click on a credential row to open the details view, which shows:
- Full recipient information
- Template details
- All claim values (achievements, assessments, etc.)
- Complete processing history
- Verification status
Verification Options:
- PDF certificates contain a QR code that recipients can scan with the Credentium Wallet mobile app
- PDFs can be verified at validate.credentium.com
- JSON-LD credentials can be verified using the Europass Credential Viewer
Revoking a Credential
Revocation permanently invalidates a credential. Use this when:
- The credential was issued in error
- The recipient's qualifications are no longer valid
- The credential information is incorrect
To revoke:
- Click the dropdown menu (three dots) on the credential row
- Select Revoke
- Confirm the action
What happens after revocation:
- Status changes to "Revoked"
- Credential appears with strikethrough in recipient's wallet
- Verification checks will show "Revoked" status
- The credential cannot be un-revoked
- PDF and JSON-LD remain sealed but show revocation status
Resending Email Notification
If an email failed to deliver or the recipient didn't receive it:
- Click the dropdown menu on the credential row
- Select Resend email
- A new notification email will be sent
Note: You can only resend emails for successfully issued credentials.
Retrying Failed Credentials
If a credential failed to process:
- Click the dropdown menu on the credential row
- Select Retry
- The credential will be requeued for processing
If retry continues to fail, contact Credentium support.
Automatic Status Updates
The credentials list automatically refreshes to show updated statuses:
| Scenario | Refresh Interval |
|---|---|
| Credentials actively processing | Every 5 seconds |
| Awaiting email/wallet delivery confirmation | Every 15 seconds |
| Newly requested credentials | After 60 seconds, then every 15 seconds |
You can also manually refresh by clicking the refresh button or reloading the page.
Email Delivery Troubleshooting
Email Shows "Bounced"
Cause: The recipient's email address is invalid or the mailbox doesn't exist.
Solution:
- Verify the email address with the recipient
- Issue a new credential with the correct email
- Revoke the old credential if needed
Email Shows "Complaint"
Cause: The recipient marked the email as spam.
Solution:
- Contact the recipient through other channels
- Ask them to check their spam folder
- Request they whitelist Credentium emails
Email Stuck in "Sent" Status
Cause: Delivery confirmation hasn't been received from the email server.
Solution:
- Wait a few more minutes (some servers delay delivery)
- Click the refresh icon next to the email status
- If still stuck after 30+ minutes, try resending
Refresh Button Appears
A refresh button appears next to the email icon when:
- Status is "Sent" for more than 10 minutes
- Status is "Delayed" for more than 30 minutes
Click it to request updated delivery status.
Wallet Delivery Troubleshooting
Wallet Shows "Failed"
Cause: Delivery to the recipient's Credentium Wallet failed.
Solution:
- The system may automatically retry
- If problem persists, contact support
Wallet Shows "Not Tracked"
Cause: This is a historical credential issued before wallet delivery tracking was implemented.
No action needed - the credential was likely delivered but wasn't tracked.
Best Practices
Regular Monitoring
- Check the credentials list daily for failed deliveries
- Address bounced emails promptly
- Monitor revoked credentials for audit purposes
Handling Failures
- Investigate failed credentials promptly
- Use retry before contacting support
- Keep records of revocation reasons
Audit Trail
- All actions are logged with timestamps
- View the credential details for complete history
- Export data if needed for compliance
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I edit a credential after issuance?
No. Issued credentials cannot be edited. If information is wrong, revoke the credential and issue a new one.
Can I delete a credential?
No. Credentials cannot be deleted - only revoked. This maintains the audit trail.
How long does processing take?
Most credentials are processed within 3 minutes. If a credential remains in "Requested" status longer, refresh the page or contact support.
Can I bulk revoke credentials?
Currently, credentials must be revoked individually. Contact support if you need to revoke many credentials.
What happens to revoked credentials in the wallet?
Revoked credentials remain visible in the recipient's wallet but are clearly marked as "Revoked" and cannot be shared or verified.
Can recipients still download revoked credentials?
Recipients can still access the PDF and JSON-LD files, but verification will show the credential as revoked.
