Credentium Wallet - Verifying Credentials


Overview

The Verify tab allows you to verify any Credentium credential by scanning a QR code or entering a credential identifier manually. This is useful for employers, institutions, or anyone who needs to confirm a credential's authenticity.

Scanning QR Codes

Camera Permission

The first time you use the scanner, you'll be asked to grant camera access:

"Camera Access" "We need camera access to scan QR codes"

Options:

  • Grant Permission - Allow camera access for scanning
  • Open Settings - Open device settings to enable camera access manually

If permission is denied, you'll see:

"Please allow camera access to scan QR codes."


Using the Scanner

  1. Go to the Verify tab
  2. Point your camera at a credential QR code
  3. The app will automatically detect and process the QR code
  4. View the verification results

Instructions shown: "Point your camera at a credential QR code"


Invalid QR Codes

If the scanned QR code is not a valid Credentium credential:

"Invalid QR Code" "This QR code doesn't contain valid credential data."


Manual Entry

You can also verify credentials by entering the credential URI manually:

  1. Tap Enter Manually below the scanner
  2. Enter the credential identifier (URI)
  3. Tap Verify

Placeholder: "urn:credentium:credential:... or https://..."

"Enter Credential identifier (URI)" "Paste the credential URI below"

If the input is invalid:

"Invalid Input" "Please enter a valid credential URL or code."


Verification Process

When verifying, you'll see:

"Connecting to verification service..."

If it takes longer than expected:

"It is taking more time than usual. Please wait."


Verification Results

Valid Credential

When a credential passes all checks:

Status: Valid

"This credential is valid and has not been revoked."

All verification checks show as passed:

  • Credential has been issued
  • Credential has not been revoked
  • Credential is within valid period
  • Credential has not expired
  • Issuer is verified and trusted


Invalid Credential

A credential may be invalid for several reasons:

RevokedThis credential has been revoked.
ExpiredThis credential has expired.
Not Yet ValidThis credential is not yet valid.
Not FoundCredential not found in verification registry.
PendingThis credential is still being processed and has not yet been issued.


Verification Checks

The verification process performs multiple checks:


Issuance Status

  • Passed: Credential has been issued
  • Failed: Credential has not been issued


Revocation Status

  • Passed: Credential has not been revoked
  • Failed: Credential has been revoked


Valid From Date

  • Passed: Valid from [date]
  • Failed: Not yet valid (starts [date])


Expiration Date

  • Passed: Valid until [date] OR No expiry date (credential does not expire)
  • Failed: Expired on [date]


Issuer Verification

  • Passed: Issued by [issuer name]
  • Failed: Issuer could not be verified


Existence

  • Passed: Credential exists in registry
  • Failed: Credential not found in registry


Issuer Details

After verification, you can view issuer information:

  • Organization - Issuer name
  • Legal Identifier - Official registration number
  • Country - Issuer's country


Supported countries include: Poland, Germany, United States, United Kingdom, France, Spain, Italy, Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, Switzerland.


Verification Timestamp

Each verification shows when it was performed:

"Verified on [date] at [time]"


Verify Again

To re-verify a credential after viewing results:

  • Tap Verify Again to repeat the verification
  • Tap Scan Another to scan a new QR code


Offline Verification

Limited verification is available offline:

"Limited verification available offline. Connect to the internet for full verification."


For complete verification including revocation status, an internet connection is required.


Viewing the Public Page

For verified credentials with public access enabled, you can tap View Public Page to open the credential's public view in a browser.
